Information used by ICEBO

We use account contact details, date of birth, profile information, preferences, verification results, uploaded media, messages, payment records and safety reports to operate the service. An approximate location is saved only when you choose to provide it. Your exact date of birth and contact details are not included in discovery profiles.

Account and verification details are needed to create and publish a profile. Optional location and notification choices can be left off. Do not put private contact, financial or identity information in your public profile.

Purpose and access

Information is used for account access, adult eligibility, matching, conversations, billing, fraud prevention, moderation and support. Eligible members can see approved profile information. Conversation participants can see shared messages and approved media. Authorized reviewers may access evidence needed to review safety or verification cases.

Service providers

ICEBO uses Supabase and its hosting provider to operate accounts and store data. PayFast processes payments. When enabled, Sumsub handles identity, selfie and liveness verification; Daily provides video calls; Resend and Twilio deliver communications; browser push services deliver notifications; and AWS Rekognition assists photo quality and moderation review. Providers may process information in other countries. Verification images are not public profile photos.

Your choices and requests

Use Account settings to choose notification preferences, download account data or request erasure. Use Profile to correct profile information or pause visibility. You can remove uploads and revoke registered notification devices. Marketing messages require an optional preference.

An erasure request hides the profile and is reviewed before records are deleted. Financial, safety and dispute records may need to be retained where necessary. Contact us to ask about the information held, correction, access, retention, objections or a pending request.
